“Still nothing yet huh?” I look up from my desk at the sound of Rocco’s question.
I shake my head grimly. “No, it’s been a few months now. If we would’ve found out who did that to her car, we would’ve found them by now.”
Which is unfortunately true. But damn I wish I could’ve found who had vandalized Sage’s car.
Once Danny brought the girls home we fed them some bullshit excuse that someone sideswiped it and it was in the shop. Unfortunately, living in a small ass town worked against us and the girls found out what really happened. Needless to say, they were less than thrilled that we lied to them.
When Sage and I both came to the conclusion that it was Jackie we were disappointed to learn that she and Harold were an hour away at a wedding. Which brought us back to square one. No suspects.
“It really does seem like some jealous ex fucked up the wrong car.” I tell him.
He’s leaning against the door jam with his arms crossed. “Probably. Some chick was looking for a dark blue car and never took the model into consideration.”
I nod my head in agreement. “That’s been my thoughts too. Although, I wouldn’t have been too upset if it was Jackie.” I smirk. What? I was stuck with her ass for years. Men can be petty asses too...don’t let anyone tell you differently.
Rocco chuckles. “I think all of us would’ve loved bringing her ass in. How’s Sage been about it?”
I give him a shrug. “Pretty good. She was upset like the rest of us that it wasn’t Jackie, but once she got it fixed, she was fine. She doesn’t know who else it would be, so she thinks that it was just a fuck up on someone’s part. She even laughed that the dude cheating better watch his ass with how much damage that chick did.”
He looks at me with wide eyes. “That car really was jacked the fuck up. I’d be surprised if that dude still has his nuts attached. That chick is obviously on a whole different level of crazy.”
I just nod in agreement. He’s right though, that’s some serious crazy with a huge helping of anger. That’s a bad combination. I feel sorry for the dude having to deal with that shit. Hell, Kayla tried to drown Craig and even she wasn’t at that level of crazy.
“What’s up man? You just decide to hold up my door frame for no reason?”
Rocco rolls his eyes and walks in and takes a seat in front of my desk. “No, I have a question to ask you.” He scratches the back of his head in a nervous gesture. “Well, more like a favor.”
He looks strangely nervous, which is unusual for him.
I sit back in my chair. “Sure man, anything, you know that.”
“Can I have Sage’s phone number?” He blurts out quickly.
I stare and blink at him a few times. I know this fool did not just ask for my woman’s phone number.
